Thermal Projects

Why Kondaas Automation undertakes Thermal Projects?

Solar water heating systems use the sun’s energy to heat water or other liquids. A system uses a solar collector to collect energy from the sun. The energy is then transferred into a water storage tank, similar to those used by a conventional water heater.

There are two common types of solar collectors used for residential and small commercial applications: flat-plate and evacuated-tube collectors. Flat plate collectors are the most common type of collector for domestic solar water systems, and they are generally the most affordable option. These collectors are insulated boxes that hold an absorber plate. The sun heats this plate, and the heat is transferred to a heat transfer fluid flowing through tubes near the plate. Flat plate collectors can typically produce temperatures up to 180 degrees Fahrenheit and in sunny warm conditions can have efficiencies in the 65% to 78% range, but lose effectiveness when it gets extremely cold or cloudy.

An evacuated tube collector is a parallel array of rows of transparent glass tubes surrounding rows of absorbers. The air inside the tube is removed (evacuated) to form a vacuum. This reduces heat loss, increases efficiency, and allows the tube collector to reach temperatures of up to about 300ºF. Tube collectors typically have maximum efficiency in the 40% to 55% range, but remain efficient even in the coldest weather.

Kondaas Solar Water heating systems can be used in a variety of residential, commercial and industrial applications including air heating, water heating and steam generation. Kondaas Solar Water Heaters that heat water can be installed anywhere hot water is needed, including single-family or multi-family homes, offices, industrial buildings, schools and hospitals. The system can also be used to supply hot water to your pool, making it a cost-effective way to extend your pool season.
