  2. Does the subsidy apply to commercial rooftops?

    No. PM Surya Ghar’s central subsidy is residential-only. Commercial and industrial installations instead benefit from accelerated depreciation and, in some states, separate incentive schemes.

  3. Can I install more than 3kW and still get the subsidy?

    Yes, you can install up to 10kW under the scheme, but the central subsidy itself is capped at 3kW worth of capacity (₹78,000), regardless of how much larger your system is.

  4. What’s the difference between DCR and non-DCR panels?

    DCR (Domestic Content Requirement) panels are manufactured in India using domestic solar cells. Government-subsidised residential rooftop schemes require DCR-listed modules non-DCR panels aren’t eligible for PM Surya Ghar.

  5. How long does installation take after I request a quote?

    Typically a site survey happens within a few days, followed by DISCOM approval, installation and net-meter commissioning. End-to-end this usually runs 4–8 weeks, depending on your DISCOM’s processing time.
